Blog Assignment #11

Hey Journalism Students!

Here's blog assignment #11:
2) On this site, you need to do the following (you will need headphones):
- Design a cell phone
- Crash Scene
- The Odd Machine
- Weather

You may do - Deep Brain Stimulation, Virtual Hip Resurfacing and Replacement & Virtual Knee Surgery if you have a strong stomach :)

3) Write a 1 paragraph summary about each and post it to your blog, titled "Blog Assignment #11"

Blog Assignment #10

Hey Journalism Students!

Here's blog assignment #10:

1. Surf the web for 10 cool websites for kids.
2. Post these 10 websites to your blog, titled "Website #1, #2" etc.
3. Next to each website - give me the 5 W's and H of the website. What is it? What does it help kids do? Why should kids use it? Is it an educational website? Is it an entertainment website? How can a student use it? What's offered on the website? Would you use it? Would you encourage BCS students to use this website? Why? Be specific!

Blog Assignment #8 - #9

Hey Journalism Students:

Here's blog assignment #8:
1) Finish blog assignment #7, post to blog.
2) Find 5 news articles online about NEWS
3) Post the 5 W's and H of each article to your blog (Who? What? When? Where? Why? How?)
4) Post to your blog as "Blog Assignment #8"

Here's blog assignment #9:
4) Go to www.flickr.com
5) Click on "Explore"
6) Find 15 pictures that you like.
7) Save them to your desktop.
8) Post them to your blog, one at at time, titled "Picture #1, 2, etc".
9) Include a 1-paragraph summary with each picture explaining WHY you like that picture.

Hey Journalism Students,

WRITE THIS DOWN: We will be working the LSU v. Ole Miss game on SATURDAY, NOV. 20. Each student should bring 1 adult + 1 friend with them to work the game. This will be worth 150 points.

Hey Journalism Students,

1 week down, quite a few more to go! Good job on your blogs so far. Some of you are still missing some blogs so here's what you need to do today:

1) Finish blog assignments #1-5
2) Post EACH one to your blog (I'm grading them tomorrow)
3) After you finish blogs 1-5, work on blog assignment #6. This includes writing 2 feature stories. (A feature story is a story about a person, place, or thing).
4) Post what you finish to your blog.

Blog Assignment #6

Hey Journalism Students,

Great job so far - pages & blogs look good!

Here's blog assignment #6:
1. Think of 10 people you know who would buy a Yearbook AD from you.
FYI - every student in this class must sell at least $300 worth of ADS. We'll talk more about that later. (Think business owners, senior ADS, etc.)
2. Post their first names to your blog, titled "Blog Assignment #6 - Yearbook ADS"
3. Post 50 newspaper ideas to your blog. Yes, 50, titled "Blog Assignment #6 - Newspaper Ideas"
4. After you've posted 50 ideas, pick 2 of those ideas.
5. Write 2 feature stories for our first newspaper (stories should be 5 paragraphs, 5-7 sentences each)
6. Post these to your blog, titled "Blog Assignment #6 - Feature Stories"

Note, this is not due until Monday, but you should get started on it now.

Please make sure you have posted Blog Assignments #1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 to YOUR blog by this Friday. These are worth 10 points each. I will post grades on Friday.

1. Go to www.hjedesign.com
2. Log in to e-design
3. Go to your assigned page (page assignments below in RED)
4. Continue working on your yearbook page! Draw the boxes, insert the text, insert the pictures, and DESIGN (pick any theme - the page can be about sports, yourself, a hobby - it's your choice!)
5. At the end of class today, write a 1 paragraph summary (5-7 sentences) about what you did to your yearbook page today.

2. Log in to e-design (your username is firstnamelastname; your password is bethany)
3. Click on "Book" at the top, and go to your assigned page (page assignments below in RED)
